Source – Druginfozone - According to an article in MIMS (March 2006), Konakion MM paediatric is now licensed for use intramuscularly (following discontinuation of Konakion Neonatal) for the treatment of vitamin K deficiency bleeding in healthy neonates of 36 weeks gestation or older.
However, healthcare professionals are advised to exercise caution to avoid dosage errors with Konakion MM paediatric as it is 5 times
stronger than Konakion Neonatal. The recommended dose is 0.1mL by Intramuscular injection at or shortly after birth, and not 0.5mL as previously used for the Konakion Neonatal formulation
