The dialdiscussion group is open to
pharmacists working in paediatric medicine in the UK and Eire. It is intended to allow contributors to share their
paediatric experience.
The group has restricted access and Dial
have full control over access to the group. A small number of international contributors will be invited to participate. Membership will not be extended to other professional groups, although this decision may be reviewed in the future.
Please ensure that messages are relevant to the list.
Use a meaningful subject line to briefly
describe the message you are sending.
Keep messages short and succinct.
Messages sent to the group are not moderated in any way. What you send is what appears. You should use your own sense of what is appropriate in writing your message. Dial are not liable for any of the information that appears in a message.
Do not send attachments to the discussion group. A lot of people will be unable to read them, either because their e-mail program cannot decode them or because they do not have the right word-processing software to read them after they have been decoded. If you have a file that you want to share with the group this can be done through the file-sharing facility offered by Yahoo. PDF or RTF formats are the most suitable formats for file-sharing.
If
your response describes practice in your unit please include additional information/supporting references, where possible. This will allow other members of the group to assess the evidence base for
the response.
Consider the following situation: “ A request for dosage information. “ A response that includes a dose and makes reference to a
paediatric dosage reference text/clinical trial etc.
will be regarded differently to a response which includes a dose calculated by extrapolation from the adult dose. Both responses are relevant and helpful, but the supporting evidence enables members to put the responses into context from a risk/management viewpoint. This is particularly helpful for people searching archived messages.
Use a short, well-designed “signature” at the bottom of your message e.g. personal details such as name, institution, e-mail
address, phone/fax number. This will allow interested members to contact you directly for further information or discussion.
All messages will be archived and can be
searched through the Yahoo dialdiscussion group.
Dial is not liable for the conduct of any member of the discussion group.
